Jinga 16-25
Jinga 16-25 offered free training for unemployed 16-25-yr-olds in Cornwall from March 2010-January 2011. The objective of the project was to improve self esteem, confidence, communication skills and motivation in order to help young people back to work or further training.

Following a pilot of the course in Truro and Falmouth in March, a series of taster sessions ran throughout mid and south Cornwall over the summer.
In it’s third phase, Jinga 16-25 was rolled out throughout the entire county between October 2010 and January 2011.
Case study:
Lorn Douce, 23, from Penryn, had been unemployed for over six months when he started the free capoeira course for confidence-building, Jinga 16-25, at the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth. He said: ‘Capoeira has improved my confidence dramatically, resulting in me finding a job!
‘Capoeira, and the kind of people that attend the classes, have made me think more positively about myself and life in general. I’m now attending weekly capoeira classes with Craig and loving them. I hope to keep attending them and progress in confidence and fitness, learning new skills, making new friends and thinking positively.’
