The JingaFest site is Chyan Community Field and Farm, Halvasso, near Penryn, TR10 9BT

We are organising a car-pool from London, so if you need a lift, or have empty spaces in your car, please contact Shamil ‘Aloprado’ Khan from ACM (find him on the teachers page). Email: twiceborne@gmail.com ; tel: 07956 932291

Train – The closest rail station is Penryn. (There are also 3 others in Falmouth). This is 5 miles from the site. We can offer ifts to and from the site so, if you’re stuck, give us a call.

By car – M5 from Exter; A30 into Cornwall, head for Bodmin, Truro, Penryn, then Treverva, Halvasso. I’ll post more detailed directions closer to the event. You will also be emailed a map when you book your ticket.

Things to bring

Ticket/ref number
Tent/camping gear
Cooking equipment & food – or live it up at the cafe, breaky lunch and dinner served every day
Capoeira/samba instruments + capoeira gear
Sunscreen/hat + wellies & warm clothes (of course it’s going to be sunny  at JingaFest but please be prepared)
Good energy & an open mind

Things to leave at home
The city, stress, bad energy.

Bringing children
Children of all ages are welcome at JingaFest but please note there are no childcare facilities on site. The site is a wonderful playground, with secret spaces, safe shallow pools in the stream and woodland, but some younger children will need careful supervision, particularly around fire and the water. In the workshops, all children will need to be accompanied by an adult, unless the workshop leader has agreed otherwise.

Important note
We want all you JingaFesters to be safe and have a good time. We are also holding the event on a community land (Chyan Farm), so there are a few rules. The main site is drug and alcohol free and we are sorry that we do not allow dogs. Personal camp fires are not allowed, for everyone’s safety and to protect the land.  We also have a ‘peace and quiet time’ from 10pm onwards.
(This does not prevent us from playing samba in the Barn after 10pm, as this is well away from the camping area). On arrival you will be asked to sign a site agreement which relates to the above.
If you feel the need to party hard into the night in a loud environment, then Falmouth is a only 5 miles away, complete with bars, nightclubs and restaurants.

Thanks to the owners
Thanks to Steph and Brett Jackson for the use of Chyan Farm and for the hard work everyone involved with Chyan has put in to make this event possible. As well as running Swamp Circus, Brett is a seasoned capoeirista and Steph is a yoga teacher, so it was fitting for us to hold the event here.
