Curriculum courses

‘Capoeira is really good because you learn to communicate with boys and girls. It was very good for your brain and your body.’
Connor, aged 9, Chacewater CP School, Cornwall

KS2 children during a 6-week capoeira course

Connor and the rest of KS2 had one lesson per week as part of a 6-week short course during curriculum time with Jinga Communities.

J Dyer, class teacher at the school, said: The combination of music, dance and communicative, non-contact martial arts has inspired and enthused both boys and girls, giving a whole new appreciation to dance as a whole, as well as a different culture and language!’

Here’s what some of the other kids said:

‘I enjoy it because it’s energetic with lots of movement and action!’ Luke, 9.

‘Being a monkey was really funny, but the hardest movement was the lizard because you had to get really low and be really slow in the movement.’ Daisy, 8.
