Capoeira classes
‘Fun – play – energising – different – freedom – social’
…just some of the words our current members use to describe our capoeira club.
Capoeira is the Afro-Brazilian art form/game which blends expressive movement with music and language. The ‘movement’ is martial arts, acrobatics and dance. The ‘game’ is an improvised partner game of trickery, attack and defence.
About us – Our capoeira group is renowned for its good vibes and camaraderie. Outside of the class we run parties, festivals and field trips. Inside the class we train hard in a creative way; laugh lots and allow everyone to express themselves freely, regardless of ability.

All classes finish with a small ‘roda’ (below), where all students are encouraged to participate in playing simple percussion instruments while others play some capoeira games (the best bit!).
