Music is an essential element of capoeira and one which makes it unique in the world of arts and martial arts.
When we play capoeira, whether we are performing for a crowd or practicing in our classes, we make our own music.
This means that during a capoeira show, you will hear Portuguese folkloric songs along with Afro-Brazilian instruments.
Our stand-alone Afro-Brazilian music workshops are for all ages. They consist of group music instruction in instruments, singing (in Portuguese) and clapping.
