Jinga Communities is a Community Interest Company (CIC) - a form of social enterprise - which means that it is focused on improving the communities within which we live, work and play.
As a not-for-profit organisation it attracts public sector funding to support its projects with a social purpose. We are also available for private bookings.

Jinga Communities was founded by Craig Blackburn – aka Canguru - in August 2008.
Canguru is a full-time capoeira instructor based in Falmouth. He is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese; a qualified personal trainer, Journalist and adult education teacher (PTTLS).
Canguru started practicing capoeira in 2000 and started teaching in Cornwall in 2004.

Meet the team
Craig Blackburn (Canguru) started practicing capoeira in 2000. He is a full-time capoeira instructor, Jinga project manager and founding director of Jinga Communities.
Adrian Gill is our treasurer. As a business & IT teacher at Wadebridge school he brings invaluable business management expertise to the company.
Jennifer Forbes is our chairperson. A former BT business development specialist, she is currently studying a Politics, Philosophy & Economics degree alongside her ongoing capoeira studies.
Laura Bower assists with all aspects of Jinga's marketing as a full-time marketing manager with a small Truro-based company. She is also a dedicated capoeira student.
Mara Blackburn is Jinga's company secretary. She has been a yoga instructor for 15 years.
Our instructors are CRB-checked, first aid-qualified & fully insured.
